The Blue Mountains National Park is one of the most picturesque places in Australia. They are only an hour's drive west of Sydney. In 1958, the entire territory of the Great Dividing Range was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The nature of the park is typical Australian tropical forests with huge blue eucalyptus trees and treelike ferns. Themselves of the Blue Mountains are unique and unusual.
Its poetic name is the Blue Mountains for a rare optical phenomenon, which can be observed atop the peaks. Drops of eucalyptus oil, which cover plants in huge quantities, specifically refract sunlight, giving it a bluish tinge. Because of what it seems that over the wooded peaks constantly hangs a ghostly blue haze
