Space and art

What, it seemed, could be common in the picture of space and the world-famous picture?

In this photo we can simultaneously see the Lagoon Nebula (M8) - at the top, the largest, and the M20 at the bottom - a small one.

M20 - triplicate nebula (M 20, NGC 6514, Trifid Nebula, English Trifid Nebula) - three-cone diffuse nebula in the constellation of Sagittarius. The name of the nebula is suggested by William Herschel and means "divided into three petals." It was discovered by Charles Messier on June 5, 1764.

It was not so easy to create such a picture - it was assembled from images obtained with narrow-band filters that transmit the radiation of hydrogen, oxygen and sulfur atoms in the visible range. Colors and brightness were chosen so that this cosmic still life resembled the famous painting by Van Gogh "Sunflowers."
