Landing Avenue Park is a small park that gives access to the upper part of the Nissequogue river in Smithtown.
When I had just gotten my driver's licence my friends and I use to hangout here. It wasn't a park back then but just a spot where you could park and look at the water and walk in the woods.
The river is tidal and when it rushes out it can be treacherous to small boaters and swimmers.
Today they have a floating dock to gain access to and from the park.

It was dead low tide in this picture, just enough water to float a kayak.
