The Lion Felli family is one of the four large cats of the panthera genre. The lion's main two sub-species have survived. One is the African lion, the other is the Asian lion. While the African Lion is found in roughly across the vast African region, a small number of Indian lions are found only in Gir's sanctuary in India. Due to multiplicity, lions refer to the African lion.
