How BIG can a Great White shark get ?

in nature •  6 years ago  (edited)

Great Whites off the coast of Australia are occasionally sighted in excess of 20 feet long !!

Scientist are not certain exactly how long they live, but;

at 70 plus years confirmed,

It is the longest lived cartilaginous fish known to mankind...

and as long as they live and thrive;

they continue to GROW !!!

the Guinness Book of World Records, listed a Great White Shark as the largest In the year 1870, it was a 36 foot (10.9 meter) specimen, captured in Australian waters, near Port Fairy...

as Amazing as that sounds;

the record was topped in 1930 by a 37 foot (11.3 meter) Great White, that was found trapped in a herring weir, (which is a type of dam) in New Brunswick, Canada.

Is there a Monster out there lurking in the pristine blue waters of the World's favorite tourist Beaches?

Megalodon's fossilized remains measure in at 18 meters or nearly 60 feet in length !!
