Where Oh Where Did My Crypto Go? Foraging for Crypto.

in nature •  7 years ago  (edited)

Like a squirrel I have buried little bunches of it all over the internet on almost countless exchanges and wallets.

Over the past year and half I have bought into a bunch of ICO's and used a bunch of different wallets that it has gotten kind of hard to keep them all organized, keep track of where I put those nuts. A little over here, some more over there, and then the next morning comes and I'm like "where did I buy that token or coin last night?"

Now, I don't think it's such a bad thing to keep your crypto stashed in a bunch of different places, it's actually, in my opinion a good idea. This way you can't lose it all if one thing goes wrong and many things could go wrong. An exchange could suddenly get shut down or you accidentally lose access to a wallet from variety of issues.

I think I have done a good job of remembering the keys and passes and which website or exchange or wallet I have my precious nuts buried in. I scurry about the jungle of crypto looking for new places to put the next batch of almonds or walnuts, often I don't have a choice.

(Am I the only one that can guess this is a boy)
Mostly I find it tough to keep track of my nuts because of my state of mind at the time. Was I really sleepy late at night, was I making a trade while at work rather distracted but caught up in a whirlwind of FOMO. Did I read a message from one of my crypto groups while taking a taxi home drunk one night?

Let's not leave out what is most likely the case and wonder; what weird wallet did I create so I could get an Air Drop of some useless coin that was more of a waste time to create than the wallet for the token was ever worth.

I am quite confident if I sort through countless e-mails and long lost text messages I will certainly find all those places. What if I wrote it down on a piece of paper then threw out the paper?

What if what if??? Where oh Where??

I've probably got small amounts of crypto in various services. In some cases the fees make it impractical to withdraw. I need to check if any of them are actually worth anything

Those pesky fees. lol.. Still, usually cheaper than traditional options. I'm guessing your hodling through this storm. I don't even know if it's a buyers market yet or need to wait it out more. I don't day trade, I'm happy with my choices but always wonder if they are right choices.

For shits and giggles do share what you expect to come back strong. Mine are Dash, Yoyow, Steemit and SBD of course, ZCash and few other no names, Elecrtify ICO seems promising.

I only really have the steem I've earned and I'm holding most of that. I've no idea which coins will prevail

I do remember from one of your comments you don't gamble with crypto. Might be a great call. I tried to fish it out of you but dang your tough cookie to crack. Steem will rise high. It's the nature of Steam.

I have mostly Steem Power. But about $1000 invested in Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin. I have about $100 EOS, Iota, and Tron over on Binance.

i agree one that point keeping crypto in the different wallet is a good idea. but the problem is exchange or withdraw cost(every wallet has a minimum cost for withdrawn) too much if i keep in the different wallet.

I agree the fees can be a burden when withdrawing but most of the time withdrawing from a crypto exchange is cheaper than a bank or Stock exchange. I started trading into ETH before exiting an exchange to turn it into fiat cash money.

Lol, I know just what you mean. There's so many coins to buy and it's so easy to forget which one's you bought after a while! All the wallets, passwords and keys... Gosh, so much to remember!

Wishing we were elephants right? Ah man.... if only I could find every Satoshi.

Nothing to say ,But i just want to say great post of Squirrel.

wow nice photo,,,,and good Squirrel...

Right? Who doesn't love a cute squirrel.

his vidio is funny my friend. and his squirrel was very courageous friend yes

I absolutely agree!!

yes my friends are good .. friends please enter my blog is my friend is good yes

You know, the same happened with me also. I have a lot of coins in different wallets and even do not remember where and how much I have. One day, I got idea to organize them all and transfer to one wallet, but the fee was big enough so I left this deal for later time but still wanted to do it when have more time. Now after reading your post I think maybe I should leave all my coins to stay where they are, only to make a list for myself in order not to forget all wallets, LOL.
