Butterfly and Garden Update

Currently Happening In My Garden

A swallowtail butterfly emerged yesterday from it's chrysalis!
It had overwintered on my back porch in my butterfly house!

We set it free into our yard!
It flew straight up into a tree and I was unable to get good photos of it.

Several kinds of flowers are blooming in my wildflower patch.
I planted the seeds last fall.

I was so happy to see the butterfly and all these pictures @violetmed. This post reminds me of the stages of life we go through. And I'm so happy the butterfly is free in your yard.

I see the kids grow and they go through stages they look like zombies in a cocoon. After a while they get over it and they are like the butterfly.

We live a tiny two room house on the 6th floor but we grow our own basil in the window. It just flowered :)

Well, I love basil(smell and taste) and it does grow pretty flowers! I'm not an expert on making pesto, but my son makes it when he visits us. Yes, it was fun to set the butterfly free, I just wish I could have taken better photos of it!

Sometimes I can get my kids to sit still for a picture but I would never ask that from a buttery LOL.

HaHa!

How lovely... It must be happy to be in a garden such as yours...
Love those pretty flowers... they are like wildflowers but tenderly cared for!

Yes, I enjoy my garden and flowers!

Oooooo do you plant flowers specifically to draw butterflies? So pretty! And got to love fresh spinach from the garden

Yes, @sunravelme I have been planting specific host and nectar plants for butterflies since 2012 in my yards. This is my first time to try growing spinach! It tasted wonderful! Thanks for stopping by!
