New Pine Tree Needles

in nature •  6 years ago

I forgot about these photos that were taken in early spring. These dense tufts is how new pine needles begin to grow.

There are many different types of pine trees which can be found wordlwide with approximately 35 different ones here in the U.S. Pine needles, which are the leaves of pine trees range from 1-11 inches long. Most pine needles fall from the tree in 3-5 years at maturity and are replaced by new ones.

Stay tuned for new pine cones that were beginning to grow on these trees.
