American Marten (Martes americana), also known as a Pine Marten, in the snow on Hudson Bay Mountain near Smithers in Northern British Columbia. Martens normally eat small mammals such as squirrels and rodents. They are however related to the wolverine and capable of hunting much larger snowshoe hares and marmots. I was lucky enough to see this guy out of the corner of my eye while I was snowboarding. He ran down a tree well; so I boarded over, took my backpack off, got my camera out, changed out the wide angle lens for the 400mm, and waited. After sitting there quietly for a few minutes he then popped his head up again.

Super!

Thank you )

Great shot!

This grasshopper came to help dig potatoes. It was at the end of August. He jumped to his shovel and looked at us curiously.

This week we were visiting Algonquin provincial park. There was a beautiful raccoon which was enjoying the sap of a maple tree.
This a the photo I took from the raccoon.

So cute )

Thanks

Lavender growing wildly on the edge of cliffs and mountains in northern Lanzerote. I get so excited when I see this flower in the wild!

99% of my photos were never edited and published, as I did not like them straight after the shoot. This is one of those forgotten gems, just stumbled over it while browsing the catalogue and found it not so bad after all with some editing.

Beautiful.

Thank you!

I don't think that photos of flowers are typical for me. I took this photo at home when sun found my window and went through it.

Suuuuuper! I'm so excited for the entries! Release the Kraken, people.

Couldn't pass this up as I went by it yesterday in my garden.
The colors and composition. I'm so glad I had the cell phone for the shot.

Hi,
This is my entry for this contest

Gun Flower and Yellow Fish
This photo was taken in my garden. The Gun Flower is a special flora, it blooms once a day, then, it closes its petals at night and opens it again next morning. It is feed by the ground put inside the water of the pool where the Yellow Fish lives. Everyday, the yellow fish swims slowly around the flower to look at it blooming. They are like long time friends in my garden.
Best,

I found this small mushroom on the forest floor in Oregon.

Combining my love for photography with my enthusiasm as an amature apiarist, I made a photo series with bees.
At this shot there is a worker bee gathering nectar from a thyme flower.

Wow, so good!!!

Here is my entry. My little garden on the balcony provides huge field for experiments and I take any chance I've got to make a photo of the flowers or the insects.
