Some naturephotography at the Green Belt

The European Green Belt is the largest ecological network system in the world. This border region, which divided Europe during the Cold War, now offers touching life stories, diverse culture and above all a unique landscape. I visited one of these places of the green belt last summer when I was on my photography trip in eastern Austria. Happily the nature at this special place is still intact and you can find several nice animals and beautiful landscapes.

I was happy to take some pictures of the emerald lizard there and also a lot of birds of prey and other birds can be found there. Also, the European wildcat still lives there in the forests, but unfortunately I couldn't take any pictures of it.

We can be extremely happy that this region was preserved and the green belt is a very important region in europe where animal still can travel from north to south. Eventhough the Iron Curtain was probably a terrible thing for most europeans at least animals and the nature profited from this border and they still do. Thankfully there are nature reserves that protect these regions in Austria, the Czech Republic and Slowakia.
