This is because Ukrainian Chief of Intelligence Budanov said that he believes that he died of a blood clot.
Many people are wrongly claiming that this is a natural cause of death, and would somehow absolve Putin if true.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
In this context, blood clot means pulmonary embolism. An otherwise -healthy middle-aged man is extremely unlikely to randomly develop a pulmonary embolism.
So why would Navalny develop a blood clot?
Torture.
Trauma and prolonged immobilization produce blood clots. It is very common for trauma victims of all sorts to get pulmonary embolisms.
If Navalny died of a pulmonary embolism, that was a result of torture. He was tortured to death by Putin's thugs.
General Budanov was not exonerating Putin, he was explaining a likely mechanism by which torture killed Navalny.
