Needlework Monday: Baymax

in needleworkmonday •  7 years ago

I've been sick the past week, so I have no new projects to show off. So instead, I thought I'd show off one of my favorite things I've ever made, ever.

Baymax, is of course, among the best characters to ever be conceived. Who doesn't love "Hairy baby? Hai-ry ba-by", and his mad fist bumping skills.

What also makes Baymax here special is he was actually the first stuffed item that I created the pattern for myself. :-)

A random in progress photo:

And then another photo of him, this time with a lollipop.

Hopefully next week I'll have something new to show off.

So cute! And so impressive that you made the pattern yourself!! My friend made me a tree spirit (from Miyazaki films) amigurumi. I bought a book with patterns but I don't understand it at all! I thought it was because I'm a knitter really so I showed it to that friend and she didn't know wtf they were talking about with "magic circles," either. 😂 It has a Cuthulu pattern, which I was going to make, but alas.

I want to see the tree spirit! That sounds adorable!

I suck at magic circles. I never do those, but I know what to do instead. It's funny when I write down my own patterns, I've kind of developed my own language, so it takes a little bit more work to translate it for other crocheters to understand.

Terminology is really different between knitting and crocheting. I've tried to look at some knitting patterns to see if I could crochet them. Nope.

Here he is after the NDK rave. 😁

Oh my gosh your Kodama is so cute$

He is so fantastic!

Your Baymax is the cutest!!!

We named our dog Hiro, out of love for that movie!

Thank you!

Such a pretty dog, fantastic name! :p

it's not necessary to show a new thing every week that you did. it's impossible! and it is not necessary. show and what you did before, it will also be interesting for all the girls here

This is SO CUTE!!! Great job on this project! It's so cool you've shared your fave with us 💜🖤💙

Hope your health and vitality are back to 100% soon!!

Absolutely adorable, @bearsquared51! Happy #NeedleworkMonday! I hope you have the opportunity to see all of the other posts in the #NeedlworkMonday tag today. We are a supportive and inclusive community!

I am just about to go through the tag to look and comment! Saved it as a reward for getting some work done.

Hee hee! I hear you. I have to get my post done first, too, otherwise I get distracted by all of the beautiful creations.

That's really cute. I don't like being sick either. I was sick last weekend (more like hurt) and couldn't post or journal or craft for days.

The good part is that I couldn't wash or cook or clean either.

Hope you feel better soon.

I love cooking, so I was sad I could barely stay awake long enough for that. But I did get out of cleaning for a few days, can't really argue with that. :p

I love cooking too, but I don't like the clean-up that comes with it. I guess being a cook who doesn't like the clean-up is like a seamstress that doesn't like to iron...

he is adorable ... I want to hug him lol

Very cute and ingenious! Hope you're reeling much better.

Awwww I hope you are feeling better now! Oh my goodness I love Baymax!! That is one of my favorite movies to watch with my kids! Kudos to you for creating your own pattern for him!! He is sooo cute! You did a really good job on him! 😊

Thank you so much! And I am feeling better. :-)

That’s great to hear!

It is very cute Baymax.
Please take care of yourself. Please get well soon.

Thank you, sumi. <3 I am feeling a lot better. It seems to have partially settled in my chest, which isn't good with my asthma, but my inhaler is handling it well.

It is very cute))) I like his eyes )

I adore his eyes. I was so happy when I figured them out and they looked good.

Awww, little dude is sooooooo cute!!!!!

Thank you!

Your smart girl, i even do it but i cann't😞

I totally understand you - this is so cute! I love to crochet myself but amigurumi are to fiddley for me. I love how they look, but it makes me nervous to work such a small item. I constantly knit or crochet cardigans and sweaters :-D
I hope you are well again and fit enough to crochet (if not I wish you well!)
resteemed!

I don't mess with amigurumi too much. I've found I have a size limit. Baymax here is actually about the length of my forearm, so...about 9 inches. I struggle doing smaller. I have hand tremors, and if I go too small with my patterns, it makes it worse.

And thank you! I am feeling a lot better. I think I'll get a new project started tonight after dinner.

Yesssss....new project - goooo (I have acute starteritis and enable everybody to follow my bad habit 🙈)
For me it is not only the size which makes it exhausting to crochet amigurumi, but I also need more concentration than while working a cardigan. I so love a mindless projects (and wearing new cardigans 😊)
What are you making next???

I am going to try to make a little amigurumi octopus. I just got buttons to use for eyes today, so it should be done this week.

Curious!!! Octopus sounds cute 😅

ha ha...that makes me laugh. I think that would be fun to make. Hope you are feeling better.

Thank you! I am feeling better.
