I don't know if Avatar's PR & marketing team are producing these kinds of stories and headlines, but virtually everything I've heard about it in the last couple of weeks is about how it's different than the animated series.
If I had any faith in the creative team to subvert my expectations in a positive way, this might be fine.
But I don't, because... gestures at the entire entertainment industry.
So instead, I've gone from being moderately to pretty excited about this show to bracing myself for an epic trainwreck.
