The show of the moment: La Casa de Papel

Hello guys!
Today I just want to talk to you about the last show I saw on Netflix: la casa de papel. I just finished it yesterday! The first time someone told me to watch it, I was totally not convinced. It must be said that Netflix is not the best to sell its show. For "La Casa de Papel", Netflix just puts in summary: "The professor recruits a young hold-up woman and 7 other criminals with the aim of a grand burglary targeting the royal House of the Currency of Spain"... Not so exciting! For the moment, there are just 13 episodes online, that last each between 40 and 50 minutes.

But in reality, this show is more than just that: the Professor (quite a mysterious man) was hoping that these 8 criminals are not going to develop links between them, even going so far as find them names of cities, to prevent them to really know each other. The Professor has planned his crime during several years and has taken all the criteria into account, and all the possible reactions by the police and by the secret services. But, as you can easily imagine, human relations have made their way through their six-months formation, removed from the outside world, and so the perfect plan of the Professor sometimes goes totally wrong.

The plan is made in such way that they all will be leaving with more than two millions euros each. At the end of the first season, you do not know if it will succeed or not. The second season will soon arrive on Netflix (at the beginning of April 2017 if If I do not make a mistake). I personally prefer when a show "ends" after each season, to begin another part of the show on the next seasons, but it is a choice like another of the producers. I am really waiting to see the continuation!

After each episode, it is very hard to close your computer/turn off your television, because the suspense is more than present in this show. There is no episode less good than another, there are all of the same quality. The soundtrack of "La Casa de Papel" is so great: at the beginning, you have the song of Cecilia Krull, "My life is going on", a song which stays in head much later to have heard it. I did not find already the song of the last minutes of each episode, but it is really good chosen for a show of this type.

And you will first be attached to each of the members of these robbers! At certain moments of the show, the scenario makes some flashbacks about each character: you learn little by little the stories of each character, and even if they are normally the "bad people" of this story, at the end you will more be annoyed by the acts of the hostages, while you will be completely in love with the robbers (instead of Berlin maybe)!

Honestly, I generally did not like the action series and I am more attracted to horror series, "life" series (I don't know if that category exists, but if not, I just have created it), and historic series. But since the start, I was so focused on it! It is really worth watching!

And if you had already watch La Casa de Papel and that you didn't learn anything with this post, I have some fun facts to you:

• The production of this show only last for 4 months, and only on Sundays and on weekends, to not disturb the scientists who worked there

• Some people think that show was inspired by true facts: in 2014, 8 people had been questioned after a long investigation and a surveillance by the CID. The group of criminals was suspected of preparing the attack of one of the most important printing offices of bank notes of Europe. A " real arsenal " had been seized during this questionings: heavy and war weapons, cowls, bulletproof vests, cars of strong capacity, harrows, devices of wave interference and in night-aim, automatic pistols... These people have been sentenced to jail.

• The Factory of the Currency refused to inform scriptwriters' team about their functioning. To understand the inner workings of the institution, they thus had to lead the investigation on their side. Afterward, the Factory did not moreover appreciate the image of its weak security given by the series.
