As the face of our country I don't mind Trudeau. The looks don't hurt, but he also tends to stand his ground.
As the leader of our country he is sadly just another bargain bin politician. An upstep from Harper, but still sleazy as all hell.

I would argue that he got in because Trump had not yet exposed the Fake News that is the Liberal media. It was the liberal media that elected Trudeau. I realize that people will say that everyone had one vote, but sadly I still run into people who believe in global warming and the tooth fairy. The media is all powerful to those who are too technically deprived to do their own research, and to those who are simply too lazy or too stupid. Jonathan Gruber, the PhD form MIT let the cat out of the bag when he told us all that "if not for the stupidity of the common voter...." People are too busy earning money, having families and managing tough careers to have to keep apprised of political affairs. Trudeau 1.0 was a communist and patent idiot. An election today would be very different - IF... we had someone to run!! There are no more leaders. Sadly, Canada is ungovernable. Civil war is a virtual certainty.

No, we got this pretender because Stephen Harper was a self-serving, self-righteous corporate stooge that did a crap job and pissed off the country. The country rejected the harmful, uncanadian ideologies of the Harper conservatives, and Trudeau seemed like the best alternative.
