I'm heading to tak you through the common "old world SEO mistakes" that keep people back from success with SEO... and how you can avoid them. That way, when you get into the various meats of the training in Module 1, you'll be primed for success.
Being a quick refresher, the old associated with SEO:
Focuses on publishing regularly
Underestimates content promotion
Depends on "great content"
On the other side, the approach to SEO that works today- the new world of SEO- has a foundation of:
Linkreators
Proven Content Frames
Content promotion and website link building
SEO Energizers
I will cover, what all of these new world SEO approaches mean in the next video.
However in this lesson I need to look at 4 HUGE old regarding SEO mistakes that hold people back from success. Because once you overcome these 4 errors, you're well on your way to embracing the new- and significantly more effective- associated with SEO.
Thus let's dive into blunder #1:
#1: Publishing too often
I'm going to put this as simply? nternet site can: Posting on a regular most basic has ZERO affect on your rankings. Zero.
The fact is, Google will not give regularly updated sites any special treatment. In fact, as I'll disclose in Module 1, keeping your site freshly up to date with content can actually hurt your SEO attempts.
? nternet site mentioned in the last lesson, Google and bing stopped giving regularly- up-to-date sites a boost several years ago. Today, then simply want to show their users the GREATEST result.
I want to illustrate this with a good example:
A while back I got very busy on huge article for Backlinko. Anyway, We didn't have time to publish anything for over 2-months. Most so-called SEO experts would say that I was making a huge mistake. They'd tell me personally that Google would start publishing "fresh content" forward of the first webpage.
Well, here's what actually happened to my organic and natural search traffic over that 2-month period. Not only dit it does not drop... it went up by 24%!
How is possible?
It's because We spent that time working on my Content Framework- and more important than that- promoting the content I already had on my site using strategies that I'll teach you in Module 3 of New SEO Strategies 2017.
Another fact that might surprise you. As you may know, I only publish a new blog post at backlinko every 4-6 weeks. And for that reason "quality over quantity" creating schedule, Backlinko only has 31 total posts posted on it. Although I actually only have 31 total posts, it brings in over 100, 000 visitorsmonth... almost all of which comes from first page Google position.
Now you might be wondering: Is there any HARM in publishing frequently?
Actually, there is. The fact is: Content advertising and link building may take time. And except if you set aside time specifically for content campaign, it's going to difficult so that you can make it priority. And one of the easiest ways to make more time for content promotion is to STOP writing and publishing all the time.
As I just confirmed you, it doesn't assistance with SEO... and it robs you of the time you of that time period you need to promote the great content you already have sitting on your site. Instead, give attention to publishing content based on proven content frameworks... and promoting that content. I'll show you precisely how to do that in New Seo Strategies 2017.
