My Steem Dream: To Use SP for social impact in the the real world
If I had the SP of a whale, I would set up a social enterprise to hold a competition to inspire and help more people to create their own employment.
We have a critical unemployment problem where I live. Many college graduates are unable to find work and the situation is worse for those who only have secondary school education or less. The contest would motivate them to create their own employment and hopefully, jobs for other people, too.
Participants would get to learn entrepreneurial basics so that regardless of when they exit the competition, they would have gained knowledge and a spark to fire the self-employment drive.
The competition would be biased towards initiatives seeking to create social impact, towards ideas that promise to create the kind of change that benefits the greater community.
Another thing I’d like to do is to set up a community urban waste recycling plant. This would create employment. It would also produce different kinds of fertilizers and fuels. This project would provide training to other communities interested in sustainable waste management.
Then I would look for a plot of waste-land to plant a food forest in . It would be a carbon sink. It would provide food. It would be a haven for bees, a critical pollinator that is being sprayed to extinction. Fruits, food and bee products would make this idea sustainable. There would also be training for anyone interested in learning more about agro-forestry.
