Contestants were asked to come up with an idea on how to re-purpose an old dishwasher. Here is what they had to work with:

We had a lot very interesting entries

#1) A mobile pet washing machines (for the small and furry pets only)

#2) Put plants in it and modify the water jets so they lightly water the plants. You can also close it up when it's night so they're protected.

#3) A spray paint cabin for small items

#4) Using virtually all of those parts and metal/plastic frame housings to make a killer water-cooled, Raspberry Pi cluster supercomputer

#5) The most powerful transformer ever! The holding Rack is his shield! The propeller is his main weapon. And in case he needs someone to get wet he has the rubber hose as the secondary weapon. The different sides of the cube just unfold to get him to max size...

#6) Dog house or house for pets that can fit in there.

#7) Take all the metal parts of dishwasher - melt them all down -
Then pour them into a mold and let it harden. Then take the newly formed piece of metal and bang the hell out of it until it becomes a sword.

#8) If water pump is self starting, you maybe could use it in a fish pond, or to water the garden from a well or a stream.
The dish rack. what about mounting it to the wall to hold newspapers and magazines?
The rotating water spayer, try to attach the garden hose, when there are kids playing outside on a hot summer day.

The little basket I would maybe use to store paint brushes or other light tools
If the pump idea above doesn't work, then maybe you can use the motor as a generator? Windmill watermill or attach it to a bicycle and generate some electricity when you do a workout?

#9) A single person boat for a boy/girl... take the outer shell and reshape it to displace water.. then use the motor to provide a little power.
You could use the spinner blade at the bottom for a small paddle too.. also the trays that are used for dishes, could be connected together to make a cage to hold the fish (especially if they catch really big ones) ;)

I then asked you Steemians to vote on the ideas you liked the best.

And you made your choices

But the two top answers were:

1) #themanwithnoname - Put plants in it and modify the water jets so they lightly water the plants. You can also close it up when it's night so they're protected.

2) #davemccoy - A single person boat for a boy/girl... take the outer shell and reshape it to displace water.. then use the motor to provide a little power. You could use the spinner blade at the bottom for a small paddle too.

Congratulations to both of you!! Both ideas are very creative, but the winner of the McGyver Challenge is:

#themanwithnoname !!

Thanks, @jorlauski! It was a fun competition. Thanks for putting it on. :)

Brilliant ideas! I would definitely go for either of those two. Lots of MacGyvers here :)
