In the last 20 years, no match between Peru and Chile has ended in a draw. This is the first draw between the two teams in 20 years. However, this is the sixth goalless draw between the two teams in the head-to-head duel. Before that, the last Peru-Chile match was a goalless draw in 1989.
In this draw, these two teams kept their chances well in Group A. Argentina beat Canada 2-0 yesterday in the first match of this group. Who are also currently holding the top spot in the group. The fate of the other three teams in this group largely depends on the performance against Argentina.
