New Psychiatry: Towards a 21st century model of mental health

Agree. Neurosis focuses attention on danger. In P2P cultures, neuroses are selected using self-regulating and self-organizing control systems. In nation-states, they are written into constitutions.

The "fight response" theory puts forth that fighting against coercion is the best way to actually get to understand the system, and to learn how to adapt to it, or, how to change it. Those who develop mental illness are people who are coerced by the system, and fail to understand how and why, and who adopt a role from how others respond to their situation. The under-dog position is auto-mirroring, which is why I've defined mental illness as obedience to coercion. (1)

Bruce Levine talks about Psychiatry’s Oppression of Young Anarchists, Joanne Moncrieff writes about Psychiatric diagnosis as a political device, and the "old psychiatry" has ideological biases and often attempts to get people to conform, reinforcing their position. (2) To rephrase a quote from Ayn Rand, altruism is the moral foundation of psychiatry.

The fight response model and self-determination activates the circuits of the frontal lobe that are responsible for self-governance, self-regulation, goal oriented behavior, (1) and also applies a force onto a meme pool and prevents neuroses from mutating beyond what the mob-rule has enforced, and minimizes corruption. It's meant to achieve the same form of force that libertarianism achieves through ideology, but is instead modelled as psychiatric science, and builds on Hoyle Leigh's work with Genes, Memes, Culture and Mental Illness.

The #NewPsychiatry achieves this same force through the use of science, modeled on the same form of non-ideological authority that came with Darwin's theory of evolution, or scientific reformations in general. From the perspective of individual mental health, self-determination is put forth as the best possible treatment. (3)

If popular, it would put old psychiatry employees out of business, open up for law-suits against pseudo-scientific uses of beliefs such as ADHD etc, and apply a force towards decentralization of law.

The idea is to use reputation system to build up a form of academia around the framework. In the next couple of years, web 3.0 services will be made available to the global population, and they will gradually drop out of previous consensus trances, and this new psychiatry could accompany that phase change.

The New Psychiatry is designed to compete head-on with traditional psychiatric practices, and to compete over authority as a branch of medical science. Self-determination as a practice for high mental health is not enforced in any way, people can continue to chew lithium, ritalin, SSRIs and major tranquilizers if they want to, everyone has their own preferences.
