A Ford Focus WRC driven by the famous Colin McRae will be auctioned on February 23rd. The rally car was used in 11 stages of the World Rally Championship, and the specialists are expected it to be sold for at least 135,000 euros.
There are car hobbyists who are also passionate about motorsport. For them there is the Race Retro Competition Car Sale event organized by the auction house Silverstone Auctions. At the February 23 event, those interested can bid for a Ford Focus WRC from 1999.
This copy was driven by the famous rally driver Colin McRae in four stages of the World Rally Championship (Spain, Corsica, Greece and China).
"Ask someone to tell you a rally pilot and you'll see that Colin McRae is the first name to come out of his mouth. He was always loved by fans," said Adam Rutter, one of the Silverstone Auctions specialists.
The auctioned model was also driven by Petter Solberg and Thomas Radstrom, and it gathered 11 stages in the World Rally Championship. According to the specialists, the price they will get after the auction will be between 135,000 and 160,000 euros.
"Such a car is very rare, and if you take into account that it was piloted by McRae, Solberg and Radstrom, you will see that it is an extremely important vehicle in the history of motor sport," Rutter said.
