A large explosion hit the Lebanese capital, Beirut, Tuesday afternoon local time (4/8/2020).

The explosion sent a large shockwave like a mushroom cloud and damaged buildings from the harbor.

Update the death toll has become 100 people. 4000 people were injured.

Foreign ministry spokesman Teuku Faizasyah said there was one Indonesian citizen who was injured but his condition was stable.

"There is an Indonesian citizen who has been injured (initials NNE). The Indonesian Embassy staff has communicated via video call with the person concerned. His condition is stable, can talk and walk. The person concerned has been treated by a hospital doctor and has returned to his apartment in Beirut," said Faizasyah

In Lebanon, there are a total of 1,447 Indonesian citizens, 213 of whom are Indonesian citizens and extended families) and 1,234 TNI members of the Garuda contingent.

Stored in warehouse 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate.

Officials allege the explosives were stored in the warehouse for six years.

Prime Minister Hassan Diab said the presence of 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate - a substance used for fertilizer and explosives - stored in warehouses was "unacceptable."

"I will not be silent until we find the person responsible for what happened, so that we can hold us accountable and apply the most severe punishment," the prime minister said.

"It is unacceptable that 2,750 ammonium nitrate was stored in warehouses for six years, without any security measures that jeopardize the safety of residents."
