DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:35 P.M.) - Up to 13 civilians were freed up by Jaysh al-Islam rebel group as stipulated in the agreement concluded with the Syrian government.

As per the deal, Jaysh al-Islam shall release a specific number of the prisoners detained in Douma for every batch of militants evacuated to the country's northern city of Jarabulus.

The released detainees – mostly women – have been taken captives when the Saudi-backed Salafist group launched an onslaught on the residential district of Adra in late 2013.

Informed sources reported that the rebel group will release some 50 prisoners today as soon as the second batch of militants leave their East Ghouta stronghold.
