BEIRUT, LEBANON (7:15 P.M.) - The battle for Jobar may have been one of the most brutal battles in all of the Syrian War, as both the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and their Islamist foes suffered heavy losses throughout the fight for this imperative suburb in eastern Damascus.
However, in the end, the Islamist rebels of Faylaq Al-Rahman and Hay'at Tahrir Al-Sham were forced to concede Jobar to the Syrian Army, following a lengthy negotiation period with the government and Russian Reconciliation Center.
The Islamist-held parts of Jobar were officially handed over to the government this past weekend after the last Faylaq Al-Rahman militants left the suburb.
