DAMASCUS, SYRIA (5:05 P.M.) - More of rebel tunnels, hideouts and headquarters are being discovered by the Syrian Army as a wide-scale mop-up operation continues in the recently-liberated towns of East Ghouta.
Today, the government forces unearthed a network of tunnels, as well as huge quantities of weapons stored in a cache in the town of Arbeen.
A workshop for manufacturing mortar shells and homegrown rockets was also discovered in the town which served as a main bastion for the al-Qaeda-linked Faylaq al-Rahman group.
Militants – who for years intimidated the Syrian capital by bloody and indiscriminate mortar and rocket attacks – have been evacuated to the country's north as per an agreement with the Syrian government.
