BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:45 P.M.) - The White House has rejected the claims made by journalist Bob Woodward about U.S. President Donald Trump ordering his administration to plan the assassination of his Syrian counterpart Bashar Al-Assad.
Woodward alleged that Trump told his staff: "Let’s f****** kill him! Let’s go in. Let’s kill the f****** lot of them."
"While I generally enjoy reading fiction, this is a uniquely Washington brand of literature, and his anonymous sources do not lend credibility," he added.
Furthermore, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley also dismissed these reports, saying that "I have not once ever heard the president talk about assassinating Assad."
US Ambassador Nikki Haley denied on Tuesday that Mr Trump had ever planned to assassinate Mr Assad.
She told reporters at UN headquarters that she had been privy to conversations about the Syrian chemical weapons attacks, "and I have not once ever heard the president talk about assassinating Assad."
