but there is hope

so far at least 180 city mayors across the U.S. has outright defied President Trump by keeping in line with the Paris Accord.

image

And other countries have promised to stay in the Accord despite President Trump's decision.

As well as India's bold decision to implement a 13 year plan towards fully electric transportation.

Which has prompted this tweet between 2 billionaires.

it's not all Doom and Gloom.

Yes, it is sad that a country's president has decide to withdraw from agreeing with reduce carbon emission. But the action to reduce carbon emission itself are on the hands of peoples and businesses.

You can do your part. We all can do our part. We do not need the government to agree with each other and tell us what to do.

The responsibility rests on us as much as it is on the government.

Curtis Stone, one of my favorite urban homesteader has made a video that sums up what I'm trying to convey perfectly into words.

Don't fret guys, remember that what happened does not matter as much as how we react to what have happened.

So Steem on guys!

Most people are quick to judge and will freak out at everything the President does (regardless of who the President actually is). They don't fully understand the scope of the situation and are quick to judge with their emotions. I like to watch everything play out and then study what I have observed. But maybe that's why I try to stay away from politics now, it's mainly just a bunch of ignorant people trying to scream and shout the loudest to get a response. I think the Paris Accord will be just fine.. :) But hey, let's wait and see.

Owh it really will be. Obama spent YEARS trying to get the Paris accord together and it's not going to go down so easily. Not after the confirmation by EU, India, China and the rest of them. There's political incentive for them to stay from the way i see it.

of course, Really it's just bunch of Aloof-suitpeoples arguing rhetorics.. it really comes down to the common people and businesses to exact change and save the planet.
Think about it, when Electric cars finally become the big hit and companies everywhere are making their own Tesla-copycat, would Big Oil still survive?

Being the edgy people we are (you're on Steemit, dont tell you're not.. hahahaha), As soon as we turn our hate towards Big Oil, Big Food, Big Corps... into action, start using our own electricity through solar, start eating our own food through edible garden.. we're already making the world a better place.

That goes without saying using cryptocurrencies to piss at Big Banks.. TAKE THAT!!!LOL

Weeeeeeeelll..... I mean, I am certainly a nonconformist and quite edgy, but I don't think all the "big pharma" "big oil" etc. companies are bad. I mean, the more research you do, the more you discover that everything isn't actually as it seems. (Well, I guess that statement can go both ways.. but you know what I mean) At the end of the day though, it all depends honestly whether or not you can understand the other guy. If you can, cool. If you can't, hey that's fine too.

Hahaha haha.. "Hey no don't support big bad companies!"

Agree with you. The companies are not "bad" per se, but there are things that they've done in the name of profit that are just down right twisted.

But really one don't need reason or an "opponent" to start doing good. And back at our original point. We don't need the government to tell us to do good. We can do good by ourselves. Which is why I'm fine with whatever happens at the Paris Accord. It's a good to have of course. But it all comes down to what we the people decides to do.

It's nice to see that the world is standing together and will continue to become more green without the USA.

Well actually even the USA itself. It's only President Trump and the Federal Government that will withdraw, technically. But as we see, State Governors like Governor Schwarzenegger will continue on with their state policy to reduce carbon emission.

If there is one thing and one thing only that all humanity on earth should unite and stand for right now, it's climate change.

Very true. I wrote a little bit about this in my latest blog. I agree!

It is the right decision for a number of reasons.

First, the Paris Accord is being treated by many as a treaty with treaty obligations, but President Obama never submitted it to Congress for passage.

Second, though President Trump could have left it in place and done nothing, his successor could have easily revived it if left in place.

Third, the structure and implementation of the Paris Accord set a terrible precedent. President Obama worked for what amounts to a global agreement with voluntary measures, but those measures would impact the American economy. But, despite that impact, President Obama did not present the Paris Accord to Congress for ratification or debate.

That easy.

Post script edit: Forgive me if i sound like ranting, i'm really not. I'm just looking at this with all the info i have (could be wrong) being as deductive as possible (again, could be wrong).

I'm not an American nor am I politician, please dont take this at face value. hehehe..

But from what i surmise, President Obama did what he did because of the ongoing "strike" Congress had on him. Remember how Congress rejected every Affordable Healthcare Act proposal presented by President Obama until it became the half-decent shit Obamacare is?

So maybe his line-of-thought at the time was that climate was more important than politics (I'm just guessing here!!!) and went ahead with it. Which i agree with your saying that he worked on it with almost a altruistic behavior.

So for President Trump, he might do that to go right by Congress. But doing that has caused SUCH A BACKLASH on him, he got so much hate for it and i'm starting to feel some of it isn't even necessary at all. but what analysis has been saying is that he effectively ceded Global Power by rights of being Climate Conservation Leader for the benefit of businesses and taxpayers in cost saved.

But there are better ways to save taxpayers money and jobs IMHO. Greentech is a booming industry. Solar itself supports more jobs now than Coal is and numbers continue to rise. And dont get me started on Military, I know the US has to keep Its Military at top notch levels by spending one-fifth of Federal Budget, which is something akin to 12 thousand dollars of taxpayer money PER AMERICAN. I totally understand it's to keep America as a Global Power but then wouldn't it be ironic because President Trump effectively ceded some American Global Power through the withdrawal.

I'm just being hypothetical... again.. i can totally be wrong and i understand that.
