Following the news yesterday that Transport for London will not renew Uber's licence when it expires the 30th of this month, the company might have light at the end of the tunnel. Over 400,000 people have signed their petition to keep the company in London, which will in turn keep 40,000 drivers in work. According to Transport for London, Uber was neither fit nor proper to have a vehicle license.
Will the petition help keep Uber in London? I hope so! Despite their shortcomings, Uber is used (according to them) by 3.5 million Londoners. I know many people who rely on it and use it at least once a week because it's fast, efficient and reliable. Of course there have been bullying and sexism allegations, but they are trying to turn things around and be a better company.
