US Patent #5159703: Silent Subliminal Presentation System (October 27, 1992)

Subliminal messages are messages that the conscious mind does not perceive, but the sub-conscious mind does. In short, subliminals are "the ability to affect a person’s mind without them being aware of it".
When most people think of subliminal messages, the first thing that comes to mind is advertising, as for years many large corporations have used subliminals in their various branding campaigns. These range from Coca-Cola, to Skittles, to Burger King, and more. In these specific cases, subtle visual subliminals are often input into the images shown in the commercial or advertising, with the goal of affecting the persons perception of the brand without them knowing it.
This is most commonly done using things like hiding a sexy woman’s figure in the advertisement, or hiding words inside the images, that aren't designed for the conscious mind to see. The problem with subliminals however is as soon as you become aware of the subliminal message being shown, your conscious mind is all of a sudden able to see the message that was designed to be hidden. But what if subliminals could go even further than that, and affect your behavior in a way that is completely silent and 100% undetectable?
Well, in 1992 a US Patent was issued for exactly such a thing, which described what was referred to as a "Silent Subliminal Presentation System". The idea stemmed off the subliminal learning tapes that were sometimes used while people sleep to help them try to kick a bad habit such as smoking. It was understood that subliminals didn't need to be visual, and that audio subliminals worked just as well, but this specific method was able to get the desired audio subliminal affect, but do it in a way that is completely silent, through the use of ultrasonic frequencies, which the human ear can't hear, but the human mind can still decode.
The following is a brief description of the silent subliminal presentation system being discussed.
"A silent communications system in which nonaural carriers, in the very low or very high audio frequency range or in the adjacent ultrasonic frequency spectrum, are amplitude or frequency modulated with the desired intelligence and propagated acoustically or vibrationally, for inducement into the brain, typically through the use of loudspeakers, earphones or piezoelectric transducers. The modulated carriers may be transmitted directly in real time or may be conveniently recorded and stored on mechanical, magnetic or optical media for delayed or repeated transmission to the listener."
Although this silent subliminal technique could be quite helpful if used correctly, it is scary to think of the more sinister applications it could also be used for. So what do you think? Do you feel it is right for someone to be able to influence your behavior through subliminals, and do it in a way that you are completely unaware that it is taking place? I have a 1 year old Cocker Spaniel/Golden Retriever crossbreed named Barkley (otherwise known as Monster... I swear this dogs so hyper it may very well be the key to zero-point energy...). I am a Search Engine Optimization specialist, website designer/analyzer and amateur blogger by day, and a coffee drinking, weed smoking, crypto trading conspiracy theorist by night. I love things that get my brain pumping and am really into politics, economics, world events, conspiracy theories, and more recently cryptocurrencies, as well as TV/movies, travel and I am also a huge fan of comedy in general (as they can't make the world go to war if everyone is laughing). I am somewhat new to the crypto world and Steemit in general but recently decided to try to jump in with both feet and see what happens. So far I am loving the people and concepts that Steemit and the crypto world are creating for the future, and I feel honored to be part of its infancy. Anyways I guess that's about it, and remember let nothing hold you back... FULL STEEM AHEAD!
