Hundreds of families evacuated in California

in news •  7 years ago

Between 100 and 200 families are evacuated in the province of Santa Barbara, in the southwestern California state, due to fast-growing forest fires.

The fire spreads very quickly, it increased in size from 6,000 to 19,000 acres yesterday. Only ten percent of the fire would be under control. The smoke of the fire is clearly visible in Santa Maria, a city with 100,000 inhabitants.

The south of the US has huge droughts. The temperature will rise to 35 degrees in the coming days, while there is only a slight chance of rain.
