A prospective Republican party candidate for US president, Donald Trump, who often criticizes the foreign policy of President Barack Obama and former Secretary of state Hillary Clinton, praised the hard-line approach of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein.“Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, right? But I know that he did manage well. He killed the terrorists and he did just fine, ” said Trump, speaking at a campaign event in Raleigh, North Carolina. “They did not read them their rights, did not waste time talking. These were terrorists, and everything that goes with that.”Trump said earlier that the world would be “100 percent better,” if dictators such as Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi were still in power. Before the US invasion of Iraq, it was listed in the list that the US recognized as state sponsors of terrorism.
Clinton adviser Jake Sullivan said that “Trump praise for brutal dictators dooesn’t seem to know any bounds.”According to him, such statements “show the danger he represents to the post of commander-in-chief, and how unworthy he is of the office to which he aspires.”
