Other ones you can try are Zoom (zoom.us) which has a free and paid version. it makes calls super quick and easy for people especially if they don't have Skype. You just send them a link, it launches a file, and you're in.

Signal is great for calls too. But they also need to have it installed on their phone. Great program for no cost, very secure, and it is open source.
