One thing people in urban areas don't understand, and also people in rural areas, is that the other side has a different world view. Forget about all the political posturing and platitudes about Trump for a minute and think about why people in different areas resonate more with one or another politician. Who speaks for the rural people? Who speaks for the coal miner? The factory worker? The people who work work in manufacturing? Of course they lean more toward the right, because the left has been ignoring them and their needs.
