Israeli archaeologists have unearthed a rare prehistoric site near Tel Aviv, described as "paradise" for hunter-gatherers who lived 500,000 years ago.
Situated next to a busy motorway in Jaljulia, the site revealed hundreds of flintstones and other artifacts.Experts say that the region is a stream, vegetation and abundant animal; they are all perfect for early humans.Ran Barkai, head of the archeology department at Tel Aviv University, said the site was "preserved unbelievably."
"It was like a paradise for people, so they came here again and again," he said."The water brought flint nodules from the hills that were used to make in-situ tools, and they had hunted and cut-off animals here that had everything prehistoric people needed."
