Gridcoin core SEVERE PROBLEM!

in news •  8 years ago

I emailed coinvault support, and he said he was unsure whether they were going to continue supporting GRC.

Hi I am the dev behind coinvault.io, I took gridcoin down because it didn't have many users and I needed the resources to run other coins, but now I have added some more servers so if there is interest I can bring gridcoin back up

Wow, thanks for commenting. I definitely have an interest, especially if you could add an import private key function.

Hi you can get your private key using the mnemonic and a BIP39 tool you don't need coinvault for that, I did think about adding such functionality to the site but we better not expose private keys on web sites (very bad practice)

I did do that, however, as the title and main article of this steemit post says, the core wallet's import private key function doesn't work currently.

did he say why?

No, not really. Maybe you can email them. It would be good if the core wallet could be fixed. It seems ever since gridcoin switched to proof of stake some wallets have issues. For example, the coinomi gridcoin wallet, mine at least, is unable to send coins. Coinomi support is working on it.

Gridcoin is functioning correctly, I have no issues with coinomi & the private keys can be exported/imported fine. Any other issues?

Thanks for helping, I appreciate it, I want to keep investing in gridcoin, but not if the wallet isn't working properly.
