China Races For World Dominance In 3D Printing Market

in news •  7 years ago

Engineers in China are now using 3D printing technology to create a myriad of different objects, including houses, fully working cars, and bus stops (see image above).

It's alleged that China will eventually achieve world dominance in this area. And hey're now leading the race when it comes to funneling this technology into a variety of industries.

In 2016, it's estimated that institutions in China together spent more than $1 billion on 3D printing projects.

And it's expected that by 2023 that the 3D printing market will be worth more than $32 billion.

3D printing technology provides incredible design and architecture potential. In the clip above, you can see a concrete 3D printer at work, which one man used to print his own castle. There have been various looks to the homes and cars that have thus far been printed using 3D printing technology.

For the design and architecture industry specifically, this is just one more industry that's expected to see some drastic changes, as this this technology continually becomes more frequently used.

In some instances it's taken only a few hours for an entire 3D-printed home to be created.

Because of the tremendous potential that this technology could provide the design and architecture market space, as well as many other commercial spaces, it's been credited with helping to spark the 3rd industrial revolution.

And some suspect that it could have a great impact on manufacturing, soon becoming the most prevalent method of manufacturing around the world.

At the moment, China is home to the world's largest printed architectural object, it's a pavilion that's referred to as the Vulcan (seen above). The pavilion was printed in several pieces and then assembled later on.

For printers to be able to print entire structures like cars and houses, the printer itself obviously would need to be very large, unless it was printing the object in several pieces.

For this reason, it's been difficult to scale and that's why some still see 3D printing as being in the infancy stages; despite the amazing progress that's been made in recent years in this area.

The global 3D printing market is already estimated to have surpassed $5 billion, with more than 200,000 desktop 3D printers being sold during 2016. Industry analysts suggest that there is still healthy growth to be seen in the 3D printer industry; this market segment has plenty of room left to expand.

Why not. 3D printing gets cheaper and cheaper as it is mass adopted. Need a bus stop? Boom, setup a 3D printer, let it go for a couple hours. Come back, all done.

Weather resistant materials. Durable. Easy peasy.

I don’t know about 3D printed homes. At least, I wouldn’t want one. Then again, price is probably rather cheap so might change my mind.

Interesting to see where this technology will go. What will we be 3D printing in 50 years?

Thanks for sharing, upvoted.

3D printing is so cool ! im always amazed at the new stuff being created on a daily basis ! thanks for sharing @doitvoluntarily ! that bus stop looks awesome !upped and resteemed !😀👍✌💕

this is really a very sophisticated breakthrough, a very stunning idea, and a creation that deserves our appreciation ... a creation that makes working so much easier ...
Greetings from me @doitvoluntarily

Very interesting article. Provide the latest information technology is getting better. I want in my area to have great technology like this too. Thanks for sharing @doitvoluntarily.

Why can't the future be NOW?!

This kind of stuff is so exciting to me! I'm kind of impatiently waiting for widespread availability of 3d printers capable of printing large scale objects like buildings. I've always wanted to design and build my own house, but I lack the carpentry skill and money tends to be an issue.

3D Printing is so freaking AMAZING! It is proof that Humanity is so far beyond what the eye can see and even more than the average mind can comprehend in this arena. The AI that we are Co-Creating has infinite possibilities. Great Post! 😍

Thanks for posting the report. Since 3D printing is difficult to scale, for now, it should come into its own (initially) through small goods.

Since I have a certain talent at wearing out the lining in the heel part of my shoes, I was thinking of that particular item...

I remember when I had a 3D printer and literally it was SOO cool. I made a keychain that was in form of gears . Make a layout of a house with it and much more

Muy interesante tu post . ya que esta nueva tecnologia que implementa china servira para nuestro futuro y el de otros paises , ya que esto hara mas facil y mas saludable el mundo.

Hey, I think I want that house... Let me just go ahead a print it.

Undoubtedly, 3D printing has ability to revolutionize many industry. Good Post.

thank you for @doitvoluntarily

The 3D printing market is expected to reach $32.78 Billion by 2023. There is a lot of money to be made in this industry.

It's great! China is an amazing country that is willing to do experiments and to keep up with the times.

Wao impresionante, la tecnología cada día me impresiona mas.

a cutting-edge breakthrough in the printing world, and hope that engineers can develop with greater technology, thanks @doitvoluntarily for the very useful information, upvote

post a very interesting and useful for US to know him. provides the latest information technology the better. we would like in the area we have a large technologies such as well. thanks for sharing information to US @doitvoluntarily.

How long until Google starts selling a 3D printer of its own?

.....and how likely is it that it'll be vegan?

dont worried about vegan..its already made..search on google about chinese salad

Fantastic post thanks for sharing I invite you to my blog to support me thanks
