It was tough to decide which story to focus on as the champion of "dumb" today because after Super Tuesday it was expected for a bunch of horribly written articles to emerge and they did as predicted. Also Schumer stuck his foot in his mouth again and Trump needs to stop speculating about Coronavirus solutions were top of the charts as well.
I wanted to step away from US politics for a minute and focus on another absolutely clueless statement made by a world leader, this time from the mouth of Nicolás Maduro when he said.
“Every woman is to have six children! Every one! For the good of the country!”
Venezuela is in such a bad state right now that it is pretty remarkable that the media have all but stopped reporting on it. When your country attempts to seal off the borders so that the citizenry are incapable of LEAVING, I think it is safe to say that something is seriously F**ked up inside that country's leadership.

The country can't get medicine and there are regular shortages on basic items and also this relatively important thing some people like to call "food", yet the President suggests that for the good of the country, the population needs to give birth to 6 children per person.
Let's not pay any attention to the fact that infant mortality jumped 30% in the last year and that the hospitals (free healthcare!) are packed but there is very little medicine or even cleaning products.

I feel as though most politicians are extremely detached from what it is like to be a "normal person" but Maduro might be one of the top offenders in this category. He is frequently seen dining on lavish meals while 1 in 3 of this population are starving to death then his solution, presented in his plan for women's healthcare.
This might be the modern day "let them eat cake" and the fact that nobody is doing anything about it, and the fact that this guy would say something like this in public, is the epitome of "dumb."
