My North Korea Eureka Moment

in news •  7 years ago

So, I've wondered for a while now what either side really has to gain by ratcheting up tension. North Korea isn't really that big of a country militarily or economically, and is pretty slim on allies. The South could lose millions of citizens in a matter of minutes due to artillery fire on Seoul, so they should have a vested interest in keeping things calm.

Yet they never do.

The US is always over there, stirring things up and creating a perfect Bogey Man for Little Kim and Co. to use to rally support from his devoted (enslaved) populous. It seems counterproductive to me.

What gives? Honestly, I can't believe it took me so long to figure this out, but this morning I had my "eureka moment" while reading "news" off Reuters.

The article explains how South Korea is ready to deploy a new US missile system that it had previously decided was too provocative to deploy, straining relations with North Korea and China. Well, I guess that just won't do for the big weapons manufacturers.

So, they call the Arms Dealer in Cheif, and tell him to "start selling weapons, dang-it!" They must have put the Donald on notice; he's not living up to expectations. Previous presidents have sold way more arms, and it's time Trump steps up his game a little.

Now the missile deal is going through, and it looks like there's going to be a nuclear sub deal following shortly.

Moon told U.S. President Donald Trump in a telephone conversation on Monday South Korea also wants to build a nuclear-powered submarine, presidential officials said.

Isn't that great? Yeah!

I wonder what Kim's cut will be...

Anyway, just thought I'd share this little moment of clarity with you lovelies this morning.

World peace must be maintained. Negotiation is key

Yeah, negotiation not war. Unfortunately the people who own our politicians can't make money off peace. Thanks for commenting.

I agree with you.

I wondered the same thing too. I agree with your theory. As they say, "follow the money".
