I just read Netflix is increasing its price from $9.99 to $10.99 USD per month as of November on its base subscriptions. Premium service is also rising a buck.
You'll start getting notices soon to announce the change.
While still a pretty good deal, it comes as no surprise. The company plans to spend a reported 7 billion in the new year on its exclusive content plus their own production of movies and show series.
Netflix has approximately 60 million subscribers and it's profits are still steady even with increasing competition from other digital streaming services such as Apple and Amazon.
I'm willing to bet most people will keep the streaming service so they can continue to binge watch content such as Heartland :)

I agree with you. Netflix has the advantage of being the biggest name in this arena. With such a high penetration rate, at least in the US, it is doubtful that they will be severely hurt by the price increase. Many of their original programming enables them to maintain this stronghold.
What I find amazing is a Netflix button is on many remote controls. This gives them a huge advantage. Not only is it easy access, it is free advertising each time someone picks up the remote.

Netflix is a bit of a rip-off in my opinion. Outside of the US the library is pretty poor. It needs some competition. I have to say though their Netflix Originals TV shows are excellent.

Here in Canada selection is pretty good. I forget if I'm using a US IP address though? My wife is the TV commander lol I spend most of my time on my sports apps. The MLB app I paid $150 for the year so with what Netflix offers I'd say it's still a deal. You're right the original content is pretty good. Thx for checking out my post

That's just bloody greedy is what it is.
We currently don't have internet (were a little behind up here) and havent had it in a while, in that time apparently, Netfilx is now the thing so seems we'll be getting that. I'm sure they will do the same thing here if they havent already.
