This is pretty cool. You can now post your spotify music straight into Instagram stories. It shows an image of the album, or single with the spotify link. This is a great way to engage with your IG followers directly

YouTube Artist Channels

Youtube is compiling all the uploads of the same video into one channel and attaching it to that particular artists page. I'm not sure how i feel about this in particular being that i'm a producer. I wonder what is going to happen with all the channels that curate music and create playlists.

If you're an artist on YouTube, your Official Artist Channel brings together all your content from your different YouTube channels into one place. The channel automatically programs your music catalog on two new shelves, including your music videos, songs, and albums

The Music Modernization Act makes a bad turn with their "few changes"

While they say this is good for artists, being that they will be more transparent and provide better tools to adapt to the new music climate, they really only mean that for the big artists.

The Big publishers get to collect all the unclaimed money from artists. If an artist doesn't claim their work, the money will be collected by bigger publishers like Sony/ATV or Warner/Chappell. Most artists don't even know that this money is out there for them.

Let me know what you guys think!
