Amazon, the largest online retail company in the world has achieved yet another milestone in its history. The shares of Amazon have for the first time crossed the $1000 USD mark. Amazon has had an incredible journey from its ICO price at just $18 per share all the way back in May 1997, giving its early investors over 56x in gains in the last 19 years of public trading. This takes Amazon's market Capitalization to over $478 Billion USD and makes it the 4th largest company by Market Cap behind Apple, Alphabet and Microsoft. According to the consultancy company 'Slice Intelligence', Amazon's total market share accounts for about 43% of all online sales in the United States.
This is truly history in the making.
