Resisting the Predator Class of 'Surveillance Capitalism'--Anti-Media Radio

in news •  7 years ago

On the Thursday edition of Anti-Media Radio on UCY.TV, we discussed the continued fallout of the Facebook data scandal, comparing how each of the Big 5 tech giants--Facebook, Google, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft--harvest enormous amounts of personal data. Combined, there is little they don't know about us and when you factor in the government, collectively the technocratic surveillance state knows all. While we consume, we ARE consumed.

I discuss the prospect of a separation of tech and state, harkening back to the old separation of church and state. Clearly, this is impossible--technology and government are intertwined--but how can we retain our privacy and freedom in a system of "surveillance capitalism"?
