Hundreds Of Thousands Unite And Join Womens Rights March On Washington

93000 people mentioned joining today's march in what was one of the biggest protests ever held. Even though 93000 is the RSVP count, the actual number was mind blowing. The meet spot for the event was Pershing Square in LA at 9 a.m. and began at 10. Well respected speakers were scheduled for speeches at the finish line,  including Mayor Garcetti , former Mayor Villaraigosa, Ariana Grande and Miley Cirus, just to name a few.

CHICAGO

250,000 was the count of marchers that attended at one point, the number growing as the day progresses. Los Angeles was a sea of pink today, all there for one reason. To spread the message that love can and will always trump hate. No pun intended.

BOSTON

"We stand together in solidarity for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health and our families -- recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country." This is a direct quote from Alicia Keys, a speaker at the march. Her speech was emotional , brilliant and hit home with everyone in attendance.

DENVER

Although this march seems to be a direct response to the election and its results, It was considered to be a "pro woman" march and not an "anti trump" protest. The Event wasent only in Los Angeles either, DC had a march thrown where even more people were going to march, about 400,000. Also in other countries, marches were organized to support the US and the political craziness its in. Protesters in "pussy hats" were seen throughout the world holding signs challenging the proposals he's made so far.

“We march today for the moral core of this nation, against which our new president is waging a war,” said one of the days respected speakers. True in statement, that's for sure.

“Our dignity, our character, our rights have all been under attack and a platform of hate and division assumed power yesterday.”

Madonna also spoke at the march, and oh what a speech. She decided to drop three f-bombs during her turn, all of which went uncensored on C-SPAN , CNN and MSNBC.

"Welcome to the revolution of love, to the rebellion, to our refusal as women to accept this new age of tyranny, where not just women are in danger but all marginalized people, where being uniquely different right now might truly be considered a crime. It took this horrific moment of darkness to wake us the f**k up." Then later she said  "To our detractors that insist that this march will never add up to anything, f**k you." She then threw in the colorful expletive one last time, in order to drive her point home.

She, among most of the speakers, stated this march was only the beginning.

"It seems as though we had all slipped into a false sense of comfort, that justice would prevail, that good would win in the end. Well, good did not win this election, but good will win in the end. So what today means is that we are far from the end. Today marks the beginning, the beginning of our story. The revolution starts here, the fight for the right to be free, to be who we are, to be equal. Let’s march together through this darkness and with each step know that we are not afraid, that we are not alone, that we will not back down, that there is power in our unity and that no opposing force stands a chance in the face of true solidarity"

Overall the march was monumental and moving. I feel like it was a perfect fit after the ugliness that occurred in the previous days protests. Its what should have happened both days, but 1 out of 2 will have to make due. The amount of pink worn throughout the world was inspiring to say the least. Do you agree? Or not.. Either way feel free to let me know.
