Daphne Caruana Galizia, a blogger whose investigations were focused on corruption, was killed in her car by a bomb two weeks after receiving death threads.
The investigative blogger mainly used the Panama Papers material to shine light on corruption of both companies and politicians. She was a well known person in Malta, where she lived.
The car bomb exploded near her house, just half an hour after she posted on her blog about one of the court cases she caused.
The murder can only be seen as additional, shocking proof that the journalist was very successful in her work and feared.
