The National Transportation Safety Board said it’s not yet known what caused the train to derail and that “it’s too early to tell” why it was going so fast.

    Usually, trains have safety systems to prevent driving too fast. I'm no expert on American trains, but as a driver for the Belgian railroad company, I know that hi-speed trains use cabin signaling. And usually, those systems include speed limits. If you go too fast, the train brakes automatically.
