Isn't this writer, Matty Holdsworth, pushing the ''a'hole'' line here a bit?

Browsing the new on Google News I came across his article. ''35 weeks pregnant and busted for smoking drugs'' Is that really newsworthy? Haven't we all come across people doing much worst things? What's this writers agenda here?
