When I first suffered an anxiety attack - I literally thought I was going to die. It was one of the most frightening experiences of my life. The physical symptoms I had reinforced the thought I was really unwell, and off I went, attending the emergency room at the hospital.
They found nothing, which was reassuring, until the next time I had an anxiety attack and ended up back there. It wasn't until I fainted at work and a paramedic suggested I was having anxiety attacks, that I was finally able to get the right treatment. CBT.
