Since governments agencies starts to check the amount of fipronil in chicken eggs, a scandal was born. Fipronil is a broad-spectrum insecticide used to treat lice, fleas and ticks. It's a really effective insecticide and therefore it's used illegally as well. One of the causes that reduces the populations of bees is the use of fipronil. For this reason France has banned the use of fipronil. Apparently it's a very effective substance to kill unwanted insects in chicken factories and it have been widely used in the Dutch chicken industry. As a result of that eggs are contaminated with fipronil, but officially the chicken meat is still perfectly alright, since the amount of fipronil is low. Today traces of fipronil has been found in eggs in South-Korea. I wonder for how long we have been eating poisonous eggs? And since when governments knew? In the Netherlands the government looked the other way to protect the industry. It's another indication that governments don't care about their citizens. Only about receiving tax money.
