At least seven people were killed and 20 injured in a car bomb explosion in Benghazi city center on Thursday in eastern Libya. AFP quoted local security officials as saying.
The blast happened at the busy road near the hotel. On this street there is a huge crowd of people on the occasion of holy Ramadan. All of the dead are civilians.
No party claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the Libyan official complained, "The terrorists want to give the message that Benghazi is not safe."
Since the massacre of Libya and the death of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, two competing authorities and various militant groups are involved in the conflict in the oil-rich country.
The military commander, Khalifa Haftar, announced the 'full independence' of Benghazi after three years of freeing the Benghazi by launching an operation against jihadis.
However, violence and attacks continued in the city. Diplomatic areas and security forces are not being spared from this attack. At least 40 people were killed in a car bomb in front of a mosque in January. One killed and 150 injured in another attack in February.
May their soul rest in peace!
