A bomb that killed a research journalist from Malta, Daphne Karuna Galicije, is most likely activated by a call from a ship along the coast of that island nation, one of the main investigators for the case, Kit Arnaud, said today.
Karuna Galicia, 53, fighting corruption in the country, died on October 16 in an explosion of a bomb placed under her car near her house in the village of Bidney.

Brothers George and Alfred Deđorho, aged 55 and 53, and Vinskent Muscat, were arrested earlier this month on suspicion of being linked to the murder.
Three suspects, known to the police, pleaded not guilty
The police began to expose their evidence against them three before the Maltese court, which will decide whether to order the trial.
Arnaud described the team of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, led by the Maltese government to help solve the crime, focused on the phone number sent to the text message at the time of the explosion in Bidney.
